Gutter Cleaning

Residential & Commercial

The cheapest way to protect a foundation.

Clogged with leaves, seed pods and shingle grit, rainwater has nowhere to go but over the edge — onto your siding, your landscaping, and the soil against your foundation.

What the job actually involves

Scooping the leaves out is the visible part. The part that matters is confirming water runs all the way through and off the property.

1

Clear by hand

Debris comes out by hand into a bucket, not blown across your roof and flowerbeds.

2

Clear the downspouts

The blockage is usually at the elbow, not in the run. A clean gutter feeding a blocked downspout still overflows.

3

Flush and confirm

We run water through the whole system and watch it come out the bottom. That is the only way to know it is actually clear.

4

Report what we saw

Loose brackets, sagging runs, separated seams, rust, rotten fascia. You get told while it is still small.

What overflowing gutters cost

Water going over the edge lands against the house. Over a few seasons that means saturated soil at the foundation, rotting fascia, water behind the siding and washed-out beds. In San Antonio it also means standing water, which is where mosquitoes breed.

Compared with foundation work, gutter cleaning is one of the cheapest pieces of maintenance a house has. It is only ever expensive when it gets skipped for years.

How often

Twice a year — after the spring seed drop and again after the autumn leaf fall. Under heavy oak or pecan cover, three times is more realistic.

Gutter guards

Guards reduce how much gets in. They do not make a gutter self-maintaining, and some types make the eventual clean harder. We will tell you honestly how yours are performing.

Common questions

Do you take the debris away?

Yes. It leaves with us unless you would rather we put it in your green waste.

Will you get on the roof?

Only where it is safe and necessary. Most gutter work is done from ladders.

Can you fix what you find?

Minor things like re-securing a bracket, often yes. Anything structural we will point you at someone who does that properly rather than bodging it.

Do I need to be home?

No, as long as we can reach the perimeter and there is an outdoor spigot for the flush.
